reasoning Gideon's easy to read as a legend; she cares about other people, has a strong sense of morality, and heck sacrificed herself. At her core, however, she's anti-authoritarian. Order her to do something, and she will refuse for that reason alone. Dig her heels in the ground and hold it possible forever. At least until it's no longer an order (a deal, a request, etc). That doesn't matter if she hates you (Crux), loves you (Harrow), or you are all powerful (God/dad).
She had 87 escape attempts from the Ninth House and only went to Canaan House with a bargain for her freedom. Ensuing events haven't left her free. Her sacrifice was in the face of certain death and selfishly winning the "I won't live without you" game. Here, away from all that, Gideon gets to do what she wants, what is best for her, and to fully get to explore that for the first time. Embracing that, going down the Myth route, will let her better figure out who she is, what she wants, and how she wants to do it.
